Hi,I did the following:
How to repair coffee table/end tables that have had water damage?I have a 2 yr old set of coffee table/end tables that are cherry. I was out of commission over the last year and family and friends that came to help set drinks on the coffee tables/end tables. The water has made the tops look like they have split or have huge scratches. Is there anyway to salvage these tables and make them look good again?

This may sound funny, but try rubbing with Mayonnaise, let set, then wipe clean. If this doesn't work, there is always sanding and refinishing.

The experts at eHow suggest the following solution:
Apply a small amount of non-gel toothpaste to a damp, clean, lint-free cloth.
Rub toothpaste over the water spot.
Remove film with a clean, damp cloth.
Dry with a clean, dry cloth.
Polish.

It sounds like the finish has fissured and water has gotten underneath. If this is the situation, it will soon flake off. If this is the situation, the only cure is to strip and refinish.
If you are talking about white water marks (blushes), and the finish is still sound, then it's salvageable via a number of home remedies or proprietary products.
