Hi,I did the following:
what is the best type of baby wash for eczema? My 10 1/2 month old has eczema and we have been using Johnson & Johnson head to toe baby wash gel and the container is running out.... Im wondering if there is any baby wash/soap/shampoo that would be better for eczema?

my son has it really really bad, and my doc suggested dove soap. He also said that Johnson's was fine too. There is some eczema baby wash that you could try. My doc also said no antibacterial soaps, because it would make him worse. Try an oatmeal bath mix, Might help with the itching. Hardly anything helped my son. He is on a strong prescription lotion. Remember the 3 minute rule. After he/she gets out of the bath, remember to get some lotion on them that is great for eczema within 3 minutes. Try aquaphor or get some cream from your doctor.

I use Aveno for babies which says for eczema, as well.
Also Aquaphor for after the bath works great. Sometimes when it gets really bad I put on hydrocortizone cream before the aquaphor.

The aquaphor will make the hair greasy if it is on the neck but oh well, better to have soft skin.

Well my daughter had it very bad! She saw several drs and specialists and in the end the soap that we still use is Oil of Olay w/ Shea Butter, it is the one with the yellow cap and we have been using it for 3 1/2 years now. Also I dont know where you are from but if you can look up a product line called L'Avenir, they have a product called "Healfast Repair", when I tell you that I swear by this..It is amazing. After countless steroid creams and other stuff I bought this at the mall and the difference in her skin was unbelievable. It is made with egg so I dont know if it is ok for people who are allergic to eggs, but u should look it up.Good Luck

My 19mth old had it from birth and still does. I forgot the name but I remember Winnie the Pooh and Tigger were on the front of it and it was green bottle I bought it at Target. I don't no longer use it on her becuz she won't breakout unless I use a different clothes detergent. Good Luck!

Johnson & Johnson made my little girls eczema worse - my doctor actually told me to stop using Johnson products on her, as for some reason quite a few bubs cant handle them.
I used Hamilton Wash for sensitive skin - and it worked very well

babies have very delicate skin. it is best that you consult a skin care expert to get some good treatments that can be suitable for your baby's skin. it is always good to use skin care moisturizer that comes all natural since it can be best for all skin type and for any age.

keep your baby's skin from skin irritants and allergens for these might trigger an outbreak. keep him hydrated by giving adequate amount of water to avoid the skin to become dry. for more tips about good skin care visit http://www.skinoriginal.com

My son had it bad also. I just use johnsons baby wash but I use BURTS BEES BUTTERMILK lotion. This is the ONLY thing that cleared it up and it smells great!

Hi. For any case of eczema, have your child tested for food allergies. In many cases, this is what causes it. My son had terrible eczema and the doctor kept prescribing creams. It would clear up and then go away. I finally took him to an allergist and it turns out that it was caused by food allergies. He was allergic to milk, eggs, citrus, and peanuts. When we stopped the triggers, it went away completely! He is almost 2 and has finally grown out of everything but the peanut allergy and unfortunately that is life threatening and will be with him forever. But, please take you child to the allergist. I didn't know about food allergies until Jude (my son) was almost one and we could have avoided so much of his pain. I am hugely involved with the food allergy network and every parent said their child had eczema as a baby. Good luck. I attached a website I found on this as well: http://www.foodintol.com/food_intolerance/cause_eczema.htm
