Hi,I did the following:
Can pedometers accurately measure the number of calories burned while walking?I have a pedometer that is supposed to be able to measure the number of calories burned while walking. I wonder how accurate it is, though, since metabolic levels vary according to the individual.

No they don't work like that. I've not seen one that takes into account your height, weight, percentages of fat, and muscle etc. (all of which affect the rate at which you burn energy) they are not accurate but can be a good incentive to do more walking.

They cannot be completely correct, as walking up hills burns more cals than on flat ground.
