Oh yes, definitely to both.
They work wonders for encouraging a toddler to brush their teeth too (and help get them cleaner). ; )
We all have the Oral-B ones. I think they were around $ 20-25 each from Wal-Mart.

Every study that I have seen show that they do a much better job of plaque removal than does manual brushing. Sonic-Care makes an excellent electric toothbrush.
