Hi,I did the following:
HOw do you cut toddlers hair when they are terrified of trimmers and scissors?

Posted by Luv2Answer
It's hard. For girls it's sometimes not worth it. You can take them to a professional who has experience like a place that only cuts kids hair. I cut my daughters hair while she is taking her bath and playing with her toys. It's the only time she has no idea I'm trying to do it. Sometimes it takes 4 times to get it all done but you have to be patient.

Cut a tiny piece of it off of your hair when they're looking. Show them it doesn't hurt. So then they will do it.

One word. Bribes. This was the only way we could get the job done. M & M's. Lollipops. Gummy bears. You get the picture. Still wasn't great, but made things much better. On second though, scratch the lollipop--that ended up with hair all over it. We also used a special hair cutting shop for little kids that had TV's all over it and kids could pick a show out of the selection to watch.

I gave my son (1year old) a toy to play with and hid the scissors and comb behind my back. I would keep combing his hair as he was playing until he didn't notice anymore then I would *Snip* and hide the scissors and comb behind my back whenever he would look to see what I just did. It only took a few hours but I finally cut his hair! LOL I'm anxious to see what others suggest as well!

My son would not let me come near him with my comb and scissors, he would cry and scream, I guess the scissors were a little scary to him. So I had to do it while he was sleeping. Then I started trimming his bangs while he was awake, letting him get used to it and to show it does not hurt. He is now three and I cut his hair when he is in the bathtub, he is in a confined space, playing with his boats and it reduces the mess. He is ok with it now, not thrilled, just tolerates it. Patience is the key.
