Hi,I did the following:
Why there are still light bulbs when there is already fluorescent bulb?Why there are still light bulbs when there is already fluorescent?
Australia already phased out the light bulbs, why don't we imitate that altogether since there is no single advantage with light bulb over fluorescent bulb.

I see a definite advantage of incandescent bulbs over fluorescent bulbs. Namely, if they get cold, they still light nearly instantly. I tried a fluorescent bulb in my garage, and when the temp got down to around 25 deg F, it took about 20 seconds to light, and was rather dim. Each type of bulb has it's benefits.

Incandescent bulbs are a lot cheaper to manufacture than flourescent.

Here are some points to consider:
Fluorescent bulbs do not function well in the cold;
the light is not true to life and annoys some people;
a small percentage of people can actually sense the frequency of the light and find it annoying;
They are much more expensive than standard bulbs;
You can't use them in an oven, refrigerator or other appliances;
they generate some electromagnetic interference for radios, etc;
They contain mercury, a known poison. Apparently the Green Party is happier about adding mercury to landfills rather than carbon in the air.
But I think it's good people are using them.
Next we'll see the LED light bulb hit the market; while slightly less efficient than fluorescent, they last a very long time, do not buzz, and are cool to the touch. Many flashlights now use LEDs.
