Village Naturals Foot Essentials Refreshing Foot Soak 20 oz
Hi,I did the following:
How to properly disinfect a foot after stepping in poop?My cats laid a present on the dark spots of my carpet so I wouldn't see it. I stepped in it with my bare feet. How do I properly disinfect my foot after this? I already cleaned the carpet and the poop off of my foot but I want to get the germs, too.
Thanks.

Washing the foot with plain soap and water is sufficient to get rid of the bacteria in poop. Germs ? - unless the cat is deathly ill you will find very few germs in cat's poop.

Geez, it's not like you stepped in radioactivity, wash your foot with soap and water, and if you still feel like Monk, wipe your foot with an antibacterial wipe or some rubbing alcohol.

well you have already washed it off and all right? so the next thing you could do if your really worried is hand sanitizer it does kill 99.9 % of germs on hands so why not feet! hoe this helps!

Plain soap and water. Lather continuously for 20 seconds then rinse. If you have no real soap, use any detergent like shampoo or dish liquid.
All soap and detergent is anti-bacterial.
Really though, in the grand scheme of things there is a lot worse than cat poop. If we were that susceptible to everything we would have died out ages ago.
Wash your foot.

Use an anti-bacterial soap to lather up your foot for a minute and rinse. If you are still worried about germs, slather some hand sanitizer on your foot. It this still isn't enough, I guess you can dip your foot in alcohol, but I don't really think you need the last two steps!

Just soap and water. That'll do it.

You could use hand sanitizer, but soap and water should be fine. If you have pets in the house you really shouldn't obsess to much. It's a bad road to go down, and can lead to a crippling OCD.

The "proper" way would be to get to a hose or spigot and get the majority of the big (sh)it clumps off of there -- use a stick to help you.
Then, hop into the house and into the bathroom. Hop over to the shower after grabbing some alcohol or peroxide, (or both,) as well as some paper towels. (You can use a washcloth to throw away afterwords as well) Turn on the shower/bath and run the water over the poopy foot. Use paper towel or washcloth to get the rest of the poop off.
Do not stick any of the poop, the paper towel, or washcloth into your mouth.. you can get diseases.
Use a second washcloth/paper towel to get the rest of unseen poop off with soap.
Isopropyl alcohol (rubbing) can be used with paper towel or washcloth to get on surface, bottom, and in between toes of the poopy foot. Let the alcohol evaporate off the foot, then use a fresh paper towel to apply a second disinfection of the foot. Let it evaporate.
The (sh)it is now gone from your foot and so are the germs. Be sure to get under the toenails if the poopoo mush-mush had gotten under there at all.

The worst part is the smell. Wash good with soap and warm water. If you want to you can put a little chlorine bleach in the water but if you do be careful not to get it on your clothes. Put your cat in the room where the litter box is for a few days so he learns where to go potty. When my cats left presents I'd stick their nose in it and they never did it again.
What do you think? Answer below!
